Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern Munich went 11 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with a hard-fought win at Hamburg.
Lewandowski opened the scoring with a penalty after Thomas Muller was brought down by Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler.
Hamburg levelled when Xabi Alonso put the ball past his own keeper trying to clear Aaron Hunt's free-kick.
Lewandowski ensured Bayern made a winning return after the winter break, deflecting Thomas Muller's shot home.
It took the Poland international striker's league tally for the season to 17 goals, one behind Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
David Alaba also hit the post with a superb free-kick for the visitors.
However, Bayern boss Pep Guardiola saw defender Jerome Boateng forced off with an injury in the first game after Germany's winter break.
It was their first competitive game since Guardiola announced last monthhe will leave at the end of the season to manage in England.
