Brisbane's bomb squad has declared a suspicious package found in a toilet block near the CBD to be safe.
The package, which had wires and batteries protruding from it, forced the closure of Captain Burke Park at Kangaroo Point, along with several adjoining streets.
Police were concerned the package could have been an improvised explosive device.
Two men were found near the area and are assisting police with their inquiries.
Police declared an emergency after the bomb-like device was found at 8:30pm.
"Police received a call that there were two male persons running around calling out 'there is a bomb inside the toilet'," Inspector Sean Cryer said.
"The toilet revealed a suspected improvised explosive device with wires coming out of it, with batteries coming out of it.
"We are obviously treating it with the utmost caution."
